Title firmly in Keita's sights

Midfielder Naby Keita is determined to try and help Liverpool finally end their wait for an English League title which extends all the way back to 1990.

The Reds came within a whisker of being crowned Premier League champions last season before being edged out by Manchester City, with the Merseysiders making up for that disappointment by winning the Champions League.

I hope I can help my team more by winning the Premier League next season.

Naby Keita

Guinea international Keita featured in 32 games for the Reds following his arrival from RB Leipzig and believes that he contribute even more next term, having taken time to adapt to the demands of English football.

He told Goal.com: "My first year was about adapting with the team and to the Premier League. I hope things will be even better next year.

"We won the Champions League for the first time since 2005 and were competing for Premier League until the last match, so of course it was good for the team and for me to be part of this in my first season.

"Like I said, I was adapting with the team and to football in England, so I hope I can help my team more by winning the Premier League next season."

Liverpool are available at 9/4 to win the Premier League title next season, while they are priced at 11/8 to top the table at Christmas.

Last season Jurgen Klopp's side lost just once in the Premier League and amassed 97 points, but were beaten to the title by a Man City outfit who won their final 14 games to retain their crown.
