TMW - AC MILAN-Conte: will not take up the post until his dispute with Chelsea is resolved

Published on: 30 July 2018

The coach Antonio Conte and Ac Milan have reached an agreement for the transfer for €6m a season. The problem is that the Italian coach has still an year left in his contract with Chelsea.

The Current coach Gattuso was appointed on a long-term deal in April but reports in Italy claim he could be sacked before the end of pre-season with hedge fund Elliott Management, who took control of the club earlier in July, wanting to make a change. However, Conte will not take up the post until his dispute with Chelsea is resolved.

Conte agreed an improved salary, but not an extension, on his contract 12 months ago and wants the full £9.5m he would have earned in the final year paid up in full.  Chelsea have a policy where they pay dismissed coaches weekly until they find employment elsewhere.
