Tony Pulis Takes Aim at Ex-Club Crystal Palace Ahead of Showdown Labelling Them Big-Money Flops

Published on: 03 March 2017

The West Brom manager has taken aim at his former club, saying the Eagles have wasted millions in their pursuit of the top six as all that expense has now landed them in arelegation battle.

Tony Pulis isset to bereunited with his former club, when Palace make the trip to the Hawthorns on Saturday, for the first time since thePremier League panel made public thathis £2m bonus from the Eagleswas secured throughdeceit.

With only 22 points to their name and ten places below Pulis' side the Baggies boss, according to theDailyStarsaid:

"They're in a false position with the amount of money they've spent, the strength of their squad and the players that they've got, and they've backed it up with loan signings like Loic Remy and Mamadou Sakho.

"Add that to Christian Benteke, Andros Townsend, Wilfried Zaha, Yohan Cabaye, you can go through it."

Can't get over Crystal Palace spending £26m on two average left-backs in the same transfer window. Crazy business.

His opposing manager, Sam Allardyce, sees his side 18 points behind the eighth placed Baggies at the start of the weekends fixtures and the West Brom boss went on to add:

They've spent an enormous amount of money and they did it try to get in the top six.

So where it's all gone wrong I don't know.

The reverse fixture saw Pulis' charges take all three points on the opening day of the season, however the reception he will receive from travelling Palace fans may not follow his previous hero's welcome.

Message to everyone going to West Brom away Saturday. Can we please please please wave notes at Tony Pulis when he comes out? He's in debt 

The 59-year-old saved his former club from what seemed certainrelegation, but since their previous meeting it was revealed Pulis lied about a land deal for his children prior to his resignation in order to secure a £2million survival bonus.

The Baggies boss does not believe these revelations will not outweigh all what he gave to the club.

They have to make their own mind up and decide, he added.

They've had five different managers since I've come to Albion - two interim managers and three managers."
