Top Banter! Schweinsteiger Offers Witty Response After Being Congratulated for FA Cup Goal

Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger offered a witty response after being congratulated for his first Old Trafford goal against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup.

Schweinsteiger made his first start for the Red Devils in over a year and produced an accomplished performance, delivering a goal and an assist.

The former Bayern Munich man was spotted out and about on Monday afternoon with wife Ana Ivanovic and was offered with congratulations in front of United fans, having previously scored for the club in a 1-1 draw with Leicester City.

However, as quoted byManchester Evening News, Schweinsteiger retorted: "No, this is my second goal at Old Trafford. My first was for Bayern Munich."

Schweinsteiger scored an equaliser for the German club after Nemanja Vidic had given the hosts the lead, but was also sent off late in the game and missed the fixture at the Allianz Arena.

While it previously looked as if Schweinsteiger had made his last appearances for United, manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed the former Germany international could feature in the club's upcoming Europa League ties.

"Yeah, he's staying and he's going to the Europa League list," Mourinho confirmed.

"Because we open spaces with [Memphis] Depay and [Morgan] Schneiderlin.

"And we don't have many players and in midfield we don't have many options, so obviously he's an option. Ninety minutes today was probably too hard for him, I think from minute 65 or 70 it was a bit difficult but important for him to have this impact in his body.

"And now I think he's happy and if he was a good professional when he was not playing, having some minutes and opportunities he's going to be the same good professional."
