Toronto FC yet to hold contract talks with Richie Laryea

Toronto FC, the Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise, has left the future of talented player Richie Laryea hanging in the balance as contract negotiations remain conspicuously absent.

Despite Laryea's noteworthy contributions on the field, the club's management has thus far refrained from engaging in discussions that could determine the dynamic player's fate within the team.

The loan of Richie Laryea from Nottingham Forest expired on June 30.

Toronto FC has not engaged in meaningful negotiations to extend Laryea's one-year loan from Premier League relegation battle survivors Nottingham Forest, according to Josh Kloke of The Athletic.

Laryea made his debut on April 18 against West Bromwich Albion, as a second-half substitute for Djed Spence in an eventual 4-0 victory.

In August 2022, he returned on loan to Toronto FC until the end of June 2023.

Laryea, who is now representing Canada at the CONCACAF Gold Cup, began and was substituted in stoppage time in Tuesday night's 2-2 tie with Guadeloupe at BMO Field. CanMNT will face Guatemala in their second group-stage match on Saturday night in Houston.
