Former Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Torric Jebrin has vowed to maintain his form as he seeks to power Ismaily SC to win next season’s Egyptian Premier League and bring back the glory days of the 2002 Egyptian champions.

Ismaily finished sixth last season but a determined Jebrin believes the arrival of some newly recruited players would be crucial for the campaign of the former CAF Champions League winner next season.

In an interview with the Graphic Sports yesterday, the former Trabzonspor player said his target for the upcoming season was to help his team reclaim the Egyptian league, and also compete in the CAF Confederations Cup.

“We have great teams in Egypt such as Al-Ahly and Zamalek but you should also know that Ismaily was once like these giants and I believe with the kind of new signings we have made, we are ready to compete with every team in the league for the ultimate,” he declared.

“We have won both the league and the CAF Champions League before so what stops us from winning again. I believe next season will be a wonderful season for us and I am fully fit to play most of our matches after playing just few games last season due to injuries.”

After joining the Egyptian giants from Turkish side Bucaspor on a three-year deal, the 25-year-old has played just a single season with Ismaily but has already been linked to clubs from the Gulf Region.

“Yes I have received numerous offers from many clubs especially from the Gulf but I want to stay at Ismaily,” he said.
