Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw could be offered a way out of Jose Mourinho's team in the summer, according to a report inYahoo Sport.

The English youngster hasn't been a consistent inclusion in the Portuguese's side this season, and has never really found his feet at the club since suffering a double leg break in a match against PSV Eindhoven back in 2015.

Shaw joined the Old Trafford side from Southampton in 2014, having worked under now Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino whilst at St Mary's. The pair are believed to have shared a great relationship, and the folks at Yahoo have been made to understand that the Argentinian manager is still a very big admirer of the player.

Pochettino was one of the first persons to reach out to Shaw after his devastating injury, and showed him public support thereafter.

I felt sick when I watched this moment for Luke, Pochettino said after the incident. My relationship with him was always close. I spoke with him on the phone.

It's difficult when you have this type of injury and I give him my support. It's difficult because he was crying and you can understand that after a big injury, not only for the pain but for everything around the situation.

Mourinho, who courted Shaw while he was still in charge at Chelsea, seemed determined to make the full-back a regular in his side, but it appears that their relationship broke down after the player made himself unavailable for a match due to feeling pain in his leg.

Mourinho was quite critical of his defender, and has kept him on the periphery ever since.

Jonathan Barnett, Shaw's agent, has stated that his client is keen on fighting for a place in the United squad, but it doesn't seem like Mourinho is willing to give the player another shot.

Perhaps a reunion with old boss Pochettino could be on the cards for the 21-year-old next season?
