Tottenham Full Back Set to Miss 4 Weeks With Knee Injury After Visiting Specialist

Published on: 07 February 2017

Tottenham will be without left back Danny Rose for the rest of February due to a knee injury, according to theLondon Evening Standard.

The England international picked up the injury during a 0-0 draw Tottenham played out with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on January 31st.Rose has since visited a specialist, and has undergone a scan to reveal the extent of the injury.

Spurs are yet to draw conclusion to the severity of the injury, but it's feared the player could be side lined for at least four weeks, with five competitive matches still left to play in February alone, including Europa League ties home and away against Gent in the last 32 of the tournament.

Mauricio Pochettino has suffered his fair share of defensive woes recently.

Jan Vertonghen has been out since January through an ankle injury which arose whilst facing West Brom, however the Belgian is said to be making positive progress on his road to recovery.

With such notable absences, it's resulted in headaches for Pochettino.

With Rose and Vertonghen both out simultaneously, it's made the Argentine hesitant in using the 3-4-2-1 formation, which proved fruitful for the north London club, ensuring six consecutive victories in December and January.

Rose has alsosurfaced as a vital component in Spurs' attack, his exuberance and endeavour moving up and down the left flank with and without possession of the ballwill be sorely missed.

Obviously, the actual measure of the injury is yet to be diagnosed. But if it is to stem for as long as it has been rumoured, Tottenham will certainly have to endure some tactics less trusted to their usual game plan, which has seen them rise this season as one of the Premier League's most potent squads.
