Tottenham fullback Rose: Southgate great support during injury recovery

Tottenham fullback Danny Rose has revealed the support he received from England coach Gareth Southgate as he worked his way back from long-term injury.

Rose played against Crystal Palace on Sunday in his first Premier League start since January.

“I've spoken to Gareth a lot," said the 27-year-old. “He knows I haven't played much football but knows what I'm capable of.

"I did a bit of my rehab at the England training centre. I was around him for three weeks and we spoke pretty much every day.

“It was nice the England manager was up for me doing some rehab there. It helped mentally. My end goal is to be part of that World Cup squad."

He also insisted his relationship with Pochettino was good. “He's been great at integrating me back into the team and getting me some minutes," he said.
