Tottenham Striker Harry Kane Aims to Knock Liverpool Out of Title Race and Catch Leaders Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has said that his side's aims are to knock Liverpool out of the title-race and catch league-leaders Chelsea, starting at Anfield this coming weekend.

Liverpool go into the game in woeful form having lost five games since the turn of the year, with the latest coming on Saturday in a 2-0 defeat at Hull City.

Tottenham, meanwhile, retain their claims of being the hardest team to beat in the league, losing just twice all season.

The two sides will clash on Saturday afternoon, where a win for Liverpool will take them to within a point of Spurs while a victory for the visitors will put the seven points clear of Jurgen Klopp's side.

"It is an important game for us." Kane toldMetro.

"We want to build the gap on Liverpool and if we beat them next week then we go seven points clear of them,

"That is what we want to try to do. We want to catch Chelsea and it's important that we stay as high up the table as possible.

"If we can build gaps over other teams behind us, that is the important thing.

"It is not down to us. We don't know if Chelsea are catchable.

"All we can do is win our games.

"Hopefully they drop a few points here and there."

Chelsea themselves have a couple of tricky away trips coming up, with a visit to Burnley coming this Saturday followed by a trip to West Ham three weeks later.

The Blues came unstuck at the London Stadium earlier this season, losing 2-1 to the Hammers in the EFL Cup and Burnley boast the third best home record in the Premier League this season.
