Dutch-born Ghanaian defender, Jeremie Frimpong has reacted to Bayer Leverkusen’s failure to reach the finals of the Europa League.

The in-form defender was in action on Thursday night when Leverkusen shared the spoils with AS Roma in the semifinals second leg tie at the Bay Arena.

Frimpong started and lasted the entire duration in the 0-0 stalemate on home turf against the Italian outfit.

Before the return leg, the Giallorossi had inflicted a 1-0 win over the Bundesliga outfit in Italy.

Following a goalless draw in the reverse fixture, Jose Mourinho’s outfit has book a place in the final.

"Tough and painful night. Not much more to say," wrote Frimpong after the match.

AS Roma will face Spanish side Sevilla, who beat Juventus, in the finals of the European championship.

He is currently on the radar of English giants Manchester United and could make a move in the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, the April Player of the Month nominee has been left out of the Netherlands squad for the Europa Nations League next month.

This leaves Ghana with another shot at convincing the youngster to switch nationalities.
