Toure returns to ASEC’s starting line-up to assist a goal in 2-1 league win

The former Asante Kotoko striker was inexplicably missing from the starting line-up of the opening two games of the league champions.

Touré came off the bench to score the only goal of ASEC Mimosas’ victory over AS Tanda on opening day of the season but was not in the starting formation against ASI on day two.

The Burkinabé who scored 17 times to help ASEC lift the trophy last season started his first game of the season as the Ivorian giants beat Williamsville Athletic Club by 2-1 at the Stade Fekix Houphouet Boigny during week three of the 2018/19 Ivory Coast Ligue 1.

Touré provided the assist for teammate Tapsoba Abdoul to open the score for the home side in the 66th minute. The visitors equalized before ASEC scored the match winner.

The lethal striker is understood to be on the wish list of Ashantigold SC.
