Slough Town has bolstered its attacking options with the loan signing of promising young striker Trae Cook-Appiah from Wealdstone.

The English-born Ghanaian striker, who recently joined Wealdstone from Walton & Hersham, has moved to the National League South club for the remainder of the season.

Slough Town coach Scott Davies expressed his admiration for Cook-Appiah's abilities, stating that he had been monitoring the young striker's progress during his time at Walton & Hersham. Davies is confident that Cook-Appiah's talents will be a valuable addition to the Slough Town squad.

The loan move provides Cook-Appiah with the opportunity to gain more playing time and maintain his match fitness. Despite making only one appearance for Wealdstone since his arrival, the striker has an impressive track record, having played 26 times for Walton & Hersham this season.

The deal includes a recall option for Wealdstone after 28 days of the loan, providing flexibility for both clubs.

“I’m really pleased to have signed Trae on loan until the end of the season. Yella and I went to watch Walton & Hersham in September when they played Hayes & Yeading and that night Trae caught our eye. We did submit a 7-day approach but unfortunately for us it proved to be unsuccessful because of where we were in the league at the time," coach Davies said.

“In terms of his profile, he really fits the bill. His pace has caused problems all season in the Southern Premier League and it was no surprise to see that Wealdstone have now secured his signature.

“He’s certainly a talented young player and someone that we are looking forward to working with between now and the end of the season,”
