Barcelona are willing to offload forward Antoine Griezmann this summer to help ease the enormous financial issues besetting the club, according to Sport.

The Catalan giants are unable to register any of their new signings because they have exceeded LaLiga's strict salary limit by 40 per cent.

And according to Sport, Barcelona - who are more than £1billion in debt due to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic - are looking to sell one of their top earners, with France international Griezmann prime among them.

The report adds the Catalan outfit need to offload around £171million (€200m) from their wage bill to register all of their new signings and tie Lionel Messi down to a new contract.

And the outlet claims selling Griezmann will help ease around £107m (€125m) of that amount, alongside whatever transfer fee Barcelona manage to raise for the 30-year-old.

The French forward is currently the club's top earner on £294,000 per week, with Messi officially no longer - for the time being at least - a Barcelona player having yet to sign on to fresh terms at the Nou Camp after his contract expired at the end of June.
