Despite missing out on this year's Ballon d'Or award, Barcelona's Lionel Messi still has the world at his feet.
The 29-year-old is viewed as one of the world's greatest footballing talents, and has broken records and won countless trophies throughout his playing career.
His most significant achievement, on a personal level, is also set to be realised next year after it was confirmed that Messi is due to wed long-term partner, mother of his two children and childhood sweetheart, Antonella Roccuzzo next year.
The pair, who first met 20 years ago when Messi was just nine years old, are set to tie the knot in their homeland of Argentina after he finishes a summer tour with Barcelona on June 12, with Messi's 30th birthday on June 24 the most likely date for the event.
A family friend of Messi's confirmed the news in an interview with newspaper La Capital, saying: It's true, there'll be a wedding the middle of next year."
The city of Rosario is expected to play host to the lavish bash, with the cathedral the most likely venue for the wedding. Barcelona's entire first-team squad is expected to be handed invites, as well as former club and international teammates of Messi's.

The reception is also reportedly set to be held at the Messi family home in Arroyo Soco near the Parana river.
Messi and Roccuzzo have been together for the past eight years, despite the Argentina captain allegedly writing Roccuzzo love letters during their teen years, and made their relationship public in 2010 after Antonella agreed to move in with the superstar.
The duo grew even closer after a close friend of Roccuzzo's died in a car crash ahead of her moving from Argentina to Spain, and are parents to four-year-old Thaigo and toddler Mateo.
