Turkey-based defender Daniel Amartey ruled out for two weeks with injury

Ghana international Daniel Amartey has been ruled out of action for two weeks with an injury.

The former Leicester City defender picked up a knock at training and will now sit on the sidelines for 14 days.

Amartey will not be available for Besiktas when they take on Dynamo Kyiv in the second leg of the Europa Conference League on Thursday night. The Turkish giants will go into the game with the advantage following a 3-2 away win in Ukraine.

The experienced defender is expected to return to action after the international break.

Meanwhile, the availability of Amartey for the final AFCON qualifying game against Central Africa Republic has taken a nosedive as he is set to miss the crucial game.

The Black Stars final qualifying match is scheduled to take place at the Baba Yara Stadium on September 7 as both teams eye qualification to the tournament to be staged in Ivory Coast in January 2024. Ghana need just a point to secure a spot at in the tournament.
