Turkish outfit Besiktas puts up Ghana defender Daniel Amartey for sale

Turkish outfit Besiktas have put Ghana international Daniel Amartey on the transfer list after underwhelming season with the club, Footballghana.com understands.

The Black Stars defender joined Besiktas before the start of the 2023/24 football season after ending his spell with Leicester City, who eventually suffered demotion to the Championship during to the 2022/23 season.

Amartey fined himself sidelined most part of the season after making just 18 appearances in the Turkish top-flight, commencing in 12 of those fixtures.

Having endured a series of lackluster performances in the recently concluded season, Besiktas are said to have put the Ghanaian defender on transfer.

According to Turkish journalist, Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Besiktas are set to transfer nine players from the team with the Ghanaian international no exception.

Cameroonian international Vincent Aboubakar is also one of the names in a list of players Besiktas have put up on sale.

Other players include, Jean Onana, Valentin Rosier, Omar Colley, Javi Montero, Arthur Masuaku, Ersin Destanoğlu, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ante Rebic

Amartey missed the 2026 World Cup qualifiying games against Mali and Central Africa Republic in early June due to an injury setback.

In his absence, the Black Stars recorded back to back wins against Mali and Central Africa Republic to revive their World Cup qualification chances.
