Two Atletico Madrid players test positive for COVID-19, Partey negative

Two Atletico Madrid players have tested positive for coronavirus and will not feature in the Champions League quarter-final against RB Leipzig. Fortunately, Partey is not part of those two.

Atletico Madrid have confirmed that Ángel Correa and Šime Vrsaljko tested positive for the disease and have been self isolated from the group that will travel to Lisbon for the Champions League quarter-finals.

It has been reported that Simeone will tweak his training sessions to cater for the setback. The two affected by the virus are not among the key players in his side and it is unlikely to force a major change in his tactics.

Partey will travel with the rest of the squad for the rest of the tournament as he tested negative. He has been a key player for Simeone this season, making over 40 appearances in all competitions.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to Arsenal.
