U-20 AFCON: Tanzania are no minnows - Black Satellites coach Zito warns

Published on: 16 February 2021

Black Satellites coach Zito has cautioned his players to be wary of the threat of Tanzania because there are no minnows in football.

The Satellites will take on their Tanzanian counterparts at the Nouadhibou Municipal stadium on Tuesday in the ongoing Total U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

The three-time African Champions are making their first appearance in the competition since 2015.

"These days there are no minnows," coach Zito told ghanafa.org.

"I have been watching the games since the tournament began and technically you can see that all the teams are good.

"They are a very good side but I think we are well prepared to face them on Tuesday."

He added, "I started with 30 players, I sent the provisional to the GFA and it was forwarded to CAF."

"Out of the 30, I had three foreign players. Unfortunately, one didn’t make it."

"David Acquah from Israel couldn’t make it.

"Prince Adu Kwabena of Bechem United also picked up an injury and had to be dropped from the tournament so we came here with 27 players and I think we are fine."
