U23 AFCON: Black Meteors star Fatawu Issahaku prays for an injury free tournament for participating countries

Black Meteors star man Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has called on God to grant participating countries an injury-free U23 AFCON tournament in Morocco.

The tournament which kicked off on Saturday saw the hosts, Morocco defeated Guinea 2-1 in the tournament opener.

Ghana will play Congo in the other Group A encounter on Sunday at 3 pm local time at the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium.

Ahead of their first clash, Fatawu Issahaku has taken to social media, asking God for an injury free tournament for participating countries.

“Our first game of the tournament is tomorrow may God protect me and my team mate and all my opponents against any injuries and give us favor throughout the tournament” he tweeted.

The team have the aim of picking up one of the three available Olympic Games slots by finishing in the top three of the competition and hope to set the ball rolling on a high note on Sunday.

Ghana last featured in the men's football event of the Olympic Games in 2004 and are eager to end a nearly 20-year absence.
