U23 AFCON: Ghana coach Ibrahim Tanko expecting a good tournament in Morocco

The head coach of the Ghana U23 national team, Coach Ibrahim Tanko has opened up on what he is expecting at the 2023 CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Morocco.

According to the Black Meteors gaffer, this will be a very good tournament.

Speaking in a pre-match press conference ahead of Ghana’s first match of the tournament, Coach Ibrahim Tanko stressed that he has no doubt every country that qualified for the tournament deserves to be there.

“I was at the last edition of this competition in Egypt so I have an idea how it's going to be. All the teams deserve to be here and I think it’s going to be a very good tournament,” Coach Ibrahim Tanko said.

The match between Ghana and Congo will be played today at the Prince Moulay Abdullah Stadium in Rabat.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 16:00gmt.

After the Congo game, Ghana will play Morocco in the second group game before taking on Guinea in the final Group A contest.
