U23 AFCON: Ghana to know opponents for group stage on May 5

The Ghana U23 team, the Black Meteors will know their opponent for the group stage of the 2023 U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) next month.

As per CAF, the draw for the group stage of the tournament will come off in Morocco on May 5.

“The final draw will take place on Friday 5 May in Rabat,” an update from the continent’s football governing body said.

Ahead of the draw, Media personnel interested in covering the event can apply via the CAF Media Channel.

The media accreditation process for the final draw of the TotalEnergies U23 Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2023 has officially opened today.

The accreditation window will stay open until May 1, four days before the official draw.

The TotalEnergies U23 AFCON will feature Ghana and other countries including host Morocco, Egypt, Niger, Guinea, Congo, Mali, and Gabon.

The Black Meteors are hoping to succeed at the tournament to not only return home with the trophy but to also secure qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.
