Captain for the Black Meteors of Ghana, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has promised that the team will fight to make the country proud at the 2023 CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The Ghana U23 team is heading to Morocco this month to participate in this year’s U23 AFCON.

During an engagement on Monday before the Black Meteors travelled to Egypt for a pre-tournament training camp,  captain Daniel Afriyie Barnieh indicated that the team will not want to make promises.

He stressed that the team is focused and ready to do the talking on the pitch when the tournament kicks off.

“In this team, we don’t talk much. We do all our talking on the pitch and we are confident that we will make ourselves and the nation proud,” the Black Meteors captain said.

At the U23 AFCON, Ghana is pitted in Group A and will face off with host nation Morocco, Congo, and Guinea.

The U23 AFCON is scheduled to start on June 24.
