UCL: Eddie Nketiah on target for Arsenal in draw against PSV to close out Group B

Published on: 12 December 2023

England forward of Ghanaian descent, Eddie Nketiah was on the scoresheet for Arsenal on Tuesday night when the team locked horns with PSV.

The English Premier League side played as a guest to the Dutch outfit today in a Round 6 game of the group stages of the Uefa Champions League.

Having already sealed the top spot in Group B, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could afford to make some changes to his starting eleven.

He tasked Eddie Nketiah to lead the lines for the Gunners flanked by Kai Havertz and Reiss Nelson.

Before the first-half break, Eddie Nketiah scored in the 42nd minute to give Arsenal a deserved lead.

Although that goal will separate the two sides at halftime, PSV would not give up in the second half.

The team fought and got back in the game five minutes after the game resumed.

A strike from Yorbe Vertessen saw PSV restoring parity to the game as both teams settled for a point each at the end of the contest.

Due to Thomas Partey’s injury, the Ghana midfielder was not in action for Arsenal today.
