UCL: Fit-again Joseph Paintsil set to feature for Genk against Napoli today

Ghanaian attacker Joseph Paintsil is expected to feature for KRC Genk later this evening when they face Italian Serie A giants Napoli in the Uefa Champions League.

The midfielder has been out of action for a while after picking up a knock during the Belgian club’s 6-2 defeat to Red Bull Salzburg on matchday one of the competition some two weeks ago.

He has now fully recovered and has been cleared fit to play for his side in today’s big game on matchday two of the top-tier European competition.

Speaking in an interview with GHANAsoccernet.com ahead of the tie, Paintsil confirmed he is in good shape and ready to take to the field to help his teammates when he is selected by his manager.

“I am feeling better at the moment and I even played some few minutes in last weekend’s league game against St. Truiden”, he noted.

He continued, “It’s great to play in the Champions League because it comes once or twice in a lifetime and since I have this opportunity, I have to make good use of it”.

Paintsil is a key member of the KRS Genk team and his return from injury gives them a huge boost into today’s match even though Napoli is favorite to run away with all 3 points.
