UEFA Europa Conference League: Ghanaian forward Malik Abubakari nets equaliser for Slovan Bratislava in Basel draw

Ghanaian forward Malik Abubakari was on target for Slovan Bratislava in their 2-2 stalemate against FC Basel in first leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League Round of 16.

The 22-year-old started and lasted 87 minutes before he was replaced by Jaromir Zmrhal.

Malik Abubakari equalised to secure an important point at away for the Slovakia outfit.

The home team shot into the lead through Zeki Amdouni after just six minutes into the game at the St. Jakob-Park.

The visitors leveled the pegging through Jurij Medvedev but Basel restored their lead through Andi Zeqiri in the 40th minute to make 2-1 before first half.

After the break, Slovan Bratislava fought hard to grab the equalizer through the Ghanaian international, who scored in the 77th minute to make it 2-2 at the end of the game.

Slovan Bratislava will hope to get a favorable result in the reverse fixture next week to progress to the quarterfinals of the Conference League.

Abubakari joined Brastislava in the January transfer window and has now scored two goal after making five appearances.
