Ex-Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has stated his desire to leave the debate been the styles of Carlo Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola alone, according toSky Sports.

It is JoseMourinho who is being compared with Guardiola over in England ahead of the Manchester derby, but the Germans are matching Bayern boss Ancelotti upagainst him.

Hoeness was Bayern president between 2009-2014, but was convicted of tax evasion through an undeclared account in March 2014. He has no competitors in his bid to take over again, having served his sentence.

The German media has displayed a fascination with pitting the former and current Bayern coaches against each other, with the "good guy" Ancelotti and "bad guy" Guardiola contrasted in their treatment of the Bayern squad.

Guardiola won Bayern three consecutive Bundesliga titles and two DFB-Pokals during his time there, but Ancelotti has three Champions League titles over Guardiola's two.

"The Ancelotti 'good guy' and Guardiola 'bad guy' media comparisons are, to be frank, repugnant," Hoeness complained.

The Germanmedia have portrayed Ancelotti as understanding and warm with his players, but Guardiola is seen as distant and icy.

"Creating differences between the two like that is completely unjustified. Carlo Ancelotti is a formidable person and a manager with a robust resume. Having him coach is in the best interests of Bayern, but I absolutely do not like how the media speak so negatively about Guardiola."

Ancelotti himself was more than happy to praise Guardiola for his laudable efforts at Munich and Barcelona in an interview in Spanish withSpanish newspaper AS, so it is a controversy that exists solely with the newspapers.

Still,Guardiola has shown off his ruthless mentality already at Manchester City by sticking the boot into former goalkeeping stalwart and England No. 1 Joe Hart. Hart has been forced out on loan to Italian side Torino.
