Underused Arsenal Forward Is Apparently Ready to Quit the Club This Summer

Lucas Perez is reportedly ready to leave Arsenal this summer, despite having been at the club for less than a year.

The former Deportivo player arrived for £18m just this season, yet the Spaniard has found himself on the fringes of the Arsenal squad, limited to just 21 appearances for the Gunners all term.

Despite this, Perez has some impressive stats, contributing eight goals and six assists when he has played, but has struggled in the long term to hold down a consistent first team role, which will doubtlessly cause him frustration, particularly given the inconsistent form of players like Alex Iwobi and Theo Walcott.

According toThe Mirror, the Gunners are optimistic that they can recoup the £18m that they paid last summer, and will listen to offers for Perez. Interestingly, Arsenal poached the forward from under the noses of Everton last summer, perThe Liverpool Echo, and the Toffees may look to resurrect the move this summer, given their recent new investments, as they look to strengthen their attacking depth under Ronald Koeman.

Also previously linked to a move for Perez were AC Milan, who as recently as January were rumoured to be interested in the versatile forward. However the current takeover of the Rossoneri may dictate whether or not the Italian giants make their move, as the takeover has already stalled over the last few months.
