Versatile Monaco Star Talks Up Premier League Move and Claims He Has 'Soft Spot' for Man City

Monaco star Fabinho has set his sights on a move to the Premier League and revealed he would prefer a move to Manchester City, despite holding talks with Arsenal and Manchester United.

Theholding midfielder has been a crucial part of Monaco's success so far this season, making 38 appearances and acting as the defensive shield to allow attacking stars such as Kylian M'Bappe, Bernardo Silva, Radamel Falcao and Thomas Lemar to flourish in the final third.

To label him as a solely defensive talent however is perhaps an unfairjudgementof the player - he has contributed an impressive eight goals to a side that are the highest goalscorers in Europe so far this season.

His performances have attracted interest from the Premier League's elite, and the 23-year-old has already been in talks with United and Arsenal with regards to a move.

But according to his father Joao, Manchester City are the club he has a "soft spot" for. Speaking to French TV programme Telefoot, as quoted by the Daily Express,he revealed: "We have talked to Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal. We have even been approached by Barcelona, but it didn't go any further.

"We like Manchester United and the work of [Jose] Mourinho, but we have a little soft spot for City."

The Brazilian international's versatility make him a potentially very good signing for a Premier League side - formerly a right-back, the 6ft 2in star was shifted to a central defensive midfield role to make use of his strength, positioning and passing abilities, which has allowed Dribril Sidibe to turn out at right-back.

Fabinho may be treating his side's return leg in the Champions League with City as a personal audition - he will have to be on his game if Monaco are to overturn the 5-3 deficit.
