Veteran administrator Oduro Nyarko insists Black Stars coach Chris Hughton cannot be manipulated

Veteran football administrator, Samuel Oduro Nyarko, believes it will be difficult for anybody to influence new Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton.

The former Premier League manager has signed a 21-month deal, replacing Otto Addo who left his job following Black Stars' early exit at the 2022 World Cup.

The Kurt Okraku-led administration has been accused of influencing player call-ups to the various national teams, especially, the senior national team, the Black Stars.

According to the former Chief Executive Officer of Wa All Stars, now Legon Cities said it will be difficult to influence the work of the former Brighton boss due to his rich experience and pedigree in the game.

“Hughton is the man who cannot be manipulated; he is good. I think that he is the one who will stick to his guns and not allow himself to be manipulated. That makes him a good coach, coupled with his experience in the English premier league," he told Citi Sports.

“It  (the Black Stars) is a young team and the possibility to lead this team to success is glaring," he added.

In the first two games played, Hughton has recorded a win and a draw in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] qualifiers.

Ghana sit top of Group E with eight points. The former Brighton boss will be hoping to steer the team to glory in Ivory Coast next year.
