Forward Andre Ayew netted a sensational brace on Thursday evening to power Ghana to a resounding 2-0 win against Sudan in the qualifiers to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The hosts started the game at the Cape Coast Stadium on a high and grabbed the first goal in just 19 minutes. Andre Ayew converted a direct free-kick, much to the delight of CK Akonnor.

Sudan had a legitimate penalty shout waved off after the hour mark which triggered an angry reaction from the away side's technical area.

Andre Ayew headed in a cross just before half time but the referee ruled it out for a foul.

In the second half, the Black Stars created chances and were rewarded in the 80th minute. Andre Ayew dribbled past multiple Sudanese shirts and curled one in from distance.
