Arsene Wenger's decision to leave star man Alexis Sanchez on the bench for the trip to Liverpool confounded a lot of people.
The Chilean has been Arsenal's most important performer this season, scoring 17 goals in the Premier League, but was left out of the starting XI in favour of Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman was denied a goal by a fantastic Simon Mignolet save and ultimately failed to justify his inclusion.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alex Iwobi and Danny Welbeck lined up as the three behind Giroud, and while Welbeck did score, Arsenal fans were still furious with Wenger's decision to drop Sanchez.
Their mood did not improve after videos of Sanchez laughing on the substitutes bench emerged.
Arsenal were behind thanks to Roberto Firmino's earlier strike but Sanchez was seen to be in a good mood, joking with teammate Gabriel, who seemed reluctant to join with the former Barcelona forward in his laughter.

We all know Sanchez as a player who hates to be substituted during games, but his total omission from the starting team didn't seem to go down well.
The 28-year-old was brought on in the second half but couldn't inspire Arsenal to a win, with the Gunners going down as 3-1 losers. They entertain Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday.
