Ghana Captain Asamoah Gyan scored from the penalty spot to help his club side Al Ahli beat Al Dhafra 2-0 at home on Wednesday in the Arabian Gulf League.
The 31-year-old striker sent Abdulla Sultan, the Dhafra goalkeeper the wrong way in the 44th minute to score his fourth goal in eleven matches.
Senegalese Makhete Diop doubled the visitors’ lead in the 63rd minute.
However, Gyan was replaced by Saeed Jassim Saleh after 87 minutes of play.
