Young Lionel Messi fanMurtaza Ahmadi has finally met his idol, and must be the happiest six-year-old boy on the planet right now.


Earlier this year, pictures of Murtaza wearing a makeshift Argentina shirt fashioned from a blue and white plastic bag, with 'Messi 10' on the back went viral.


The young Afghan boy idolises the Barcelona star, which goes toshows how far the Argentinian has reached in terms of popularity.

There was a public campaign for the lad to be found, with theBBC and UNICEF teaming up andeventually locating young Murtazain Afghanistan.


He received an Argentina shirt signed by Messi, but soon had to flee the country with his family, after kidnapping threats surfaced. He has sincemoved to Pakistan, butfinally got to the chance tomeet his hero, after being flown to Qatar to meet the travellingBarcelona squad.


Messi even hoisted him up for a photo, a real touch of class for the Argentina international, who missed out on the Ballon d'Or award this year, with Cristiano Ronaldo claiming it this time around.
