Sadio Mane has begun individual training on the grass. On Tuesday, FC Bayern Munich confirmed this with a video of the attacking player sprinting in football boots.
It is, of course, a major milestone for Mané following his fibula head tendon tear, which cost him the World Cup in Qatar and means he will miss the opening games of the second half of the season.
Concerning the Senegalese international's return, it has been discussed if he would be able to play in the opening leg of the Champions League round of 16 against Paris Saint-Germain FC on 14 February. FCB head coach Julian Nagelsmann recently stated that Mane is not yet on his radar for this.
The Senegalese skipper on June 2022 joined Bundesliga club Bayern Munich on a contract with the German side until 30 June 2025.
Mane made his official debut, starting in the 2022 DFL-Supercup, and scored his debut goal to help Bayern to 5–3 victory over RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena.
