VIDEO: Usain Bolt Calls in to MUTV After Middlesbrough Win But Nobody Believes it's Him

Published on: 31 December 2016

Towards the end of their last Premier League match of 2016, Manchester United were staring defeat right in the face.

Grant Leadbitter's strike earlier in the second half looked to have downed the Red Devils, but goals from Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba helped United keep the pace with the rest of the teams at the top of the Premier League.

Supporters were undoubtedly pleased with their side's recovery to grab all three points, and United superfan Usain Bolt was no different.

The Olympic champion is well known for his enthusiastic support of Jose Mourinho's team, and displayed it again by phoning United's TV channel, MUFC, to vocalise his pleasure.

In quite a bizarre clip, MUFC presenter Mandy Hendry joked as quoted by the Sun: "Our next caller is in Jamaica “ we're heading over there to speak to Usain. It's not Usain Bolt is it?"

"It is Usain Bolt, it is Mr Bolt, the Jamaican replied.

Pundits Gordon McQueen and Lou Macari seemed bemused by the call, with none of the panel actually believing it really was the sprinter phoning in. Bolt awkwardly persevered andpraised the manner of United's win.

Come on lad of course it was me on @ManUtd TV just now

They persevered, the Manchester United way. It was a great match, I'm happy, very happy.

After the encounter Bolt took to Twitter to confirm it really was him:

Come on lad of course it was me on @ManUtd TV just now

It's unlikely Bolt will be calling anytime soon after this humourless encounter.
