In a closely contested match, Tamale City FC held Asante Kotoko to a 1-1 draw at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday in match week 29 of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League.
The result leaves Asante Kotoko in sixth place with 43 points, while Tamale City FC are in the 16th place with 36 points.
In the space of five days, Tamale City recorded impressive results by holding their own against Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko. In their midweek fixture, Tamale City FC shocked the Phobians by delivering a remarkable 4-1 thrashing.
Despite playing away from home, Tamale City FC showcased an impressive level of resilience and determination against Asante Kotoko, who took the lead after 25 minutes into the first half.
Rocky Dwamena's opener for the Porcupine Warriors was quickly met by Yahaya Mohammed's response for Tamale City, levelling the scoreline going into the break.
In the second half, Asante Kotoko made several attempts to secure a win, but they were ultimately unable to breach Tamale City FC's defence, resulting in a shared spoils at full-time.
