Ghana's Black Queens emerged victorious against Senegal's Teranga Lionesses with a scoreline of 3-0 in the first leg of a double-header held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The match was Ghana's second international fixture under the leadership of head coach Nora Hauptle.
Ghana's Gifty Assifuah opened the scoring in the 2nd minute and later added another goal a few seconds to halftime.
Grace Asantewaa netted the team's third goal in the 8th minute. The Black Queens played brilliantly throughout the match, drawing cheers from the handful of supporters at the stadium.
The Black Queens’ performance has also drawn commendation from fans on social media for how they’ve transformed under the new leadership,
The friendly game was played as part of the team's preparations for the 2023 WAFU B Cup of Nations and the African Women Cup of Nations 2024 qualifiers.
The Black Queens will face Senegal again in the second leg of the double-header on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the same venue.
