Ghana's under-17 male football team, the Black Starlets, got off to a flying start at the UEFA under-16 youth development tournament with a convincing 4-0 win against the host nation Serbia in their opening match.

The game was played at the Stadion FK Cukaricki in Belgrade on April 13, 2023.

Ghana took the lead just three minutes into the game through Benjamin Tsivano's penalty kick. The Black Starlets extended their lead in the 13th minute when Debrah Bossman set up Tsivano to tap the ball into an empty net.

Just four minutes later, Tsivano completed his hat-trick with a well-taken goal after receiving a beautiful pass from Asumadu Ramsey.

Ghana ended the first half with a comfortable lead of 4-0 after Yiriyon Yaw Gideon scored from a free-kick from distance.

In the second half, Ghana dominated the game and created some good chances but failed to capitalize on them. The game ended with a final score of 4-0 in favor of Ghana.

The Black Starlets will face Spain in their next match on Saturday, April 15, as they seek to continue their winning streak in the tournament.
