Vitoria's meeting with GD Chaves resulted in the Conquistadors returning to winning ways on Monday evening at the Dom Afonso Henriques.
The host had a brief tribute ceremony. The first moment happened as soon as the teams took to the pitch: Goalkeeper Bruno Varela wore the Neno Jersey in remembrance of the late goalkeeper.
Another similar shirt would be raised by all Vitoria players when celebrating the first goal. The 17th minute passed and Tiago Silva converted a penalty, putting the Vitorians ahead in the encounter. A fair advantage that would last until the break.
In the second half, a ball hit the post after Dani Silva's shot and the Vitorians were looking forward to the final whistle. By then the intensity of the game was certainly accelerated. GD Chaves tied the match in added time through Issah Abass and seemed to have found the result they wanted most: a draw.
However, Vitoria needed and wanted more. Without dropping the ball, Allison Safira the winning goal after a wonderful pass from Miguel Maga.
