Villarreal striker Rafael Santos Borre has revealed James Rodriguez is happy at Real Madrid.

Rodriguez has struggled for consistent appearances this season, with Real manager Zinedine Zidane preferring Toni Kroos, Casemiro and Luka Modric in midfield roles while attacking stars Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema have also appeared in more La Liga matches than the Colombia international.

Villarreal host Real Madrid on Sunday and Santos Borre, who is on loan at the sixth placed club from Atletico Madrid, claims Rodriguez is settled after months of speculation regarding his future.

"I always talk to James when I have the chance to meet him and like to know how he is doing," Santos Borre told EFE, as quoted byMarca.

"I have talked to him recently. He told me that he was struggling with an injury when I called him but he said that he is doing very well now.James said that he is playing with more continuity now and it makes him happy that he is able to prove what he can do on the field."

The two Colombians are set to do battle when Real Madrid travel to Villarreal on Sunday, and Santos Borre admits his side are aware of the quality at Real's disposal.

"It will be a difficult game," Santos Borre added. We will be playing against the league leaders and they are a great side who are playing very well.

"Of course, it is going to be tough for us but we are playing at home and we need to make the most of that."
