WAFA U-17 defeat Ivoire FC 1-0 in 2018 Tournoi International du District Autonome d'Abidjan opener

West African Football Academy (WAFA) U-17 defeated Ivoire FC 1-0 at the ongoing 2018 Tournoi International du District Autonome d'Abidjan as they start on winning note on Wednesday evening.

Highly-rated youngster Godwin Agbevor scored the only goal of the game in a match played at Parc des sports.

The tournament which seeks to unearth talents for foreign scouts and club will see various teams from the sub-region battling for supremacy.

Aside from the idea of bringing out talents, the winner will also take home a glittering trophy and an unspecified amount of money.

The U-17 of the academy side will be taking other eleven sides from Africa which includes ASEC Mimosa from Cote D'Ivoire and Academie Bamako from Mali to compete for glory in this year's competition.

The Ghanaian side will take on Academie Bamako in their next outing.

2018 Tournoi International du District Autonome d'Abidjan is scheduled to run from November 28 to December 4.
