WAFU B U-20 Girls Cup: Black Princesses beat Benin 3-0 in opening game

Black Princesses started their WAFU u-20 Girls tournament on a good note at the Baba Yara Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Ghana's u-20 women's side dazzled throughout the game and secured an emphatic 3-0 win over Benin.

Benin couldn't get close to their Ghanaian opponents in all departments on the pitch.

Ghana had an opportunity through a free kick in the seventh minute but Stella Nyamekye's strike was saved by Benin's keeper.

Maafia Nyame broke the deadlock in the 35th minute after intense pressure from Ghana in Benin's half.

Stella Nyamekye's effort to try and extend Ghana's lead was saved in the 40th minute.

After the break, Black Princesses continued their attacking plan and were nearly rewarded in the 58th minute. Helen Alormenu headed over from Wasima's beautiful pass.

Mary Amponsah who gave Benin a lot of head aches extended Ghana's lead in the 61st minute. Stella Nyamekye made it 3-0 in the 68th minute. Her freekick right at the edge of the box sealed the resounding win for Ghana.
