WAFU tournament opportunity for local players to prove themselves- Asst. Black Stars coach Ibrahim Tanko

Assistant Coach of the Black Stars, Ibrahim Tanko says the West Africa Football Union tournament to be hosted in Ghana will provide an opportunity for local Black Stars to prove themselves.

The WAFU tournament will take place in Sekondi and Cape Coast, and will commence on September 9th and end on 24th of September.

Tanko, who is part of the technical team of the national team said at the draw for the competition that it presents a big platform and opportunity for the local players to prove themselves.

“If they play very well and they can help us. We have good players here in the local league who can play just like the Europeans who are playing in the national team”, he added.

The Black Stars team B is made up of only players playing in the Ghana Premier League.

The team will also be involved in CHAN qualifiers against the Stallions of Burkina Faso.
