A Precious Boah beautiful free-kick goal has handed the Ghana U-20 team a 1-0 win over the Nigeria U-20 team in the 2020 WAFU Zonw B U-20 Cup of Nations tournament.
The two rival countries were in action at the Stade de Gaules this afternoon in Benin for a encounter in Group B of the tournament that started last weekend.
On the back of a 1-1 draw against Côte d’Ivoire in their first match, Nigeria came into the game determined to beat Ghana or risk early elimination from the tournament.
Although the team put up an impressive performance, the Ghana team had the men to go the extra mile to earn all three points.
Nicknamed the Black Satellites, the team scored courtesy of a stunning free-kick converted by Precious Boah to eventually emerge as 1-0 winners at the end of the 90 minutes.
With today’s win, Ghana is safe and can secure qualification to the knockout stage of the tournament even with a draw in the next game against Côte d’Ivoire.
