WAFU Zone B U17 Championship: Ghana’s semi-final tie against Burkina Faso to be played on Saturday

The semi-final showdown between Ghana and Burkina Faso at the WAFU Zone B U17 Championship will be played on Saturday, May 25.

Ghana’s U17 side nicknamed the Black Starlets secured their spot in the last four with a victory over Benin earlier.

Burkina Faso sealed their victory with a lone goal against Niger on Thursday, May 23, following a postponement due to heavy rainfall the previous day.

This win positioned them second in Group B, tying with Nigeria in points but trailing on goal differential.

The upcoming semifinal match will echo last year's fixture at the same stage of the competition, held in Cape Coast, where the Stallions clinched a 1-0 victory over Ghana, dashing the Starlets' hopes of progressing to the final.

In a communique from the Ghana FA today, it has confirmed that the upcoming semi-final game between the Black Starlets and the Stallions will be played on Saturday.

The match will kick off at 17:00gmt at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

The other semi-final game of the day e between Nigeria and Coté D’Ivoire will kick off at 20:00GMT at the same venue.
