The Sun is reporting that Dragons boss will select the Liverpool youngster in his squad for next weekend's World Cup qualifier with Republic of Ireland.

England-born Woodburn, 17, has represented Wales at youth level but is now set to step up to the seniors and could be in line to make a competitive debut for the native country of his grandmother.

If Woodburn plays at Dublin's Aviva Stadium on Friday night, he would become the third youngest player at 17 years and 160 days to represent Wales, behind Reds colleague Harry Wilson and Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale.

Any part in the clash with Ireland will also see Woodburn tied to Wales, ending any hope England have of an allegiance switch.

Woodburn has played seven times for Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool side this season.
