Wassa Amenfi Traditional Council donates 10,000 Ghana cedis to FC Samartex 1996

Wassa Amanfi Traditional Council in the Western Region of Ghana has donated Ghc10,000 and a cow to FC Samartex 1996 after sealing historic qualification to the Ghana Premier League.

The presentation formed part of the Council’s support for the club when the team led by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr Richard Nsenkyire paid a courtesy call on overland, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II and other sub-chiefs at Wassa Akropong.

The Council pledged their support for the club as they embark on their new journey to the topflight.

Samartex 1996 were crowned champions of Division One Zone two last Sunday in Samreboi, Western Region.

The team has accrued 64 points from 29 matches played during the season and have 10 points gap with only one match remaining.

The ‘Timber Giants’ have thus secured qualification to the Ghana Premier League (GPL) to compete in the 2022/2023 season after finishing as leaders of the zone.

The Division One League Board and the leadership of the Association were in attendance at the last home match to present the winners medals to the players and officials and also present them with the trophy.
