Kumasi Asante Kotoko posted a 2-1 win over bitterest rivals Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday afternoon to lift the 2019 President Cup.

In a game played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the Porcupine Warriors made sure they took advantage of the home crowd as they pushed on to get the victory.

A first-half dominated by the Reds produced two goals. First, the Phobians took the lead out of nothing when they were awarded a penalty kick on the 34th minute.

Striker Kofi Kordzi stepped up and confidently sent the ball into the back of the Kotoko net beyond the reach of goalkeeper Kwame Baah.

Later in injury time of the first half, an own goal from Hearts defender Mohammed Alhassan restored parity before a second-half striker from Guinea international Naby Keita won the game for new manager Maxwell Konadu.
