WATCH: Moreno in tears as Liverpool boss Klopp hopes \'injury not serious\'

Published on: 07 December 2017

Liverpool fullback Alberto Moreno was in tears as he was forced off during their Champions League rout of Spartak Moscow.

The left-back appeared to damage his ankle after blocking a shot.

Boss Jurgen Klopp took no precautions and substituted the former Sevilla man with James Milner.

But judging by Moreno’s reaction, the 25-year-old may fear he could be sidelined for a while.

“We came to a little shadow of the night that Alberto needed to get substituted,” Klopp told reporters.

“It was a strange situation. He’s a tough guy: if he cannot continue the game then we should consider it could be something serious.

“In the treatment room he was a little bit more positive, so maybe we are lucky and it’s not too serious. We will see.

“Because we need all the boys for the next few weeks, but especially this week, for the game on Sunday.”
